William Arthur Varnell Iii

William Arthur Varnell III, 77, of Ooltewah, TN passed away on June 27, 2022. He was born in Ooltewah, TN on May 5, 1945 to the late William A. Varnell Jr. and Rubye (Neal) Varnell.

He graduated from Ooltewah High School and then attended University of Tennessee and Tennessee State University. He was a retired salesman and land developer. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed competitive shooting.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son Christopher Varnell; daughter-in-law Dr. Lisa Shollenberger; grandson David Varnell of Norfolk, VA; brother Robert Donald Varnell and sister-in-law Linda Varnell of Franklin, TN. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held at Ooltewah Cemetery on Wednesday August 10th at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Ooltewah Baptist Church
