Wilbur "Buddy" Butler

Wilber “Buddy” Butler, age 86, of Charleston passed away at his home on Sunday, June 6 with his wife and caregivers by his side. Born in Tampa, Florida, Buddy has been a resident of Charleston for 21 years.
Buddy retired from Ironworkers Local 97 after 47 years. He was known by friends and family to be hard-working, knowledgeable, rock-solid, dependable, and true. His first love was the Lord. He loved reading his Bible and he loved his church, Henegar Baptist Church of Cleveland.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Wanda Sue Butler; sister Dolly Fulford of Tampa, FL; sister in law Betty Boruff of Cleveland; brother Dewy Farmer of Arkansas; granddaughter Heather Hester of PA; Nephews Bennie (Marcie) Collins, and Danny Collins of Tampa, niece Donna (Dennis) Anderson of Charleston, and several other nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on (day) at Companion Funeral and Cremation Service in Cleveland with receiving of friends at (time) followed by the service at (time). His beloved Pastor, Anthony Howard will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Bennie Collins giving the eulogy and family members and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice of Cleveland for their several months of excellent care; and a special thanks to Nicole Strange, CNA, for her extraordinary personal care. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you make donations to St Jude Children Children’s Research Hospital, a favorite charity of Buddy and Sue.
