Wendy Benton Higdon

Wendy Benton Higdon, 61 of Ooltewah, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at her home. She was a lifelong resident of the area. Wendy loved the Lord with all that she was. "Winnie," as she was known by her grandkids, loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed sitting on the front porch, riding her horses, and serving in Honduras on mission trips. She never met a stranger and was a 'home away from home' for many friends and family. She lived life to the fullest and left a legacy full of love.

She was preceded in death by her father, Scottie Benton; and sister, Cindy Bible.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 35 years, Terry Higdon, to cherish her memory; mother, Margaret Benton; son, Justin Higdon; daughter, Gretchen (Barrett) Ratchford; siblings, Lisa (David) Jerrolds and Ross (Kerri) Benton; grandchildren, Jameson, Berkley, and Scottie Ratchford; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be celebrating her life with friends and family at their home on Saturday, September 19th, 2020, from 1:00 - 5:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Avalon Hospice in Wendy’s honor.
