Wayne Davis Adams

November 8, 1953 — June 6, 2019

Wayne Davis Adams, 65, of Cleveland passed away June 6, 2019 following an extended illness. He was born in Anniston, AL and called Cleveland his home for the past 51 years. He loved to play guitar and sing, and he enjoyed dressing as Santa for several holiday functions. He proudly served in the United States Navy in the 1970’s and 80’s. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide Football fan. He was a minister in the Assemblies of God. Outside his love for God, Wayne’s greatest passion was being “PapPap” to his granddaughter, Amelia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Margaret Adams; and brother, Eddie Adams.
Survivors include his loving wife of over 43 years, Ruth Adams of Cleveland; his children, Jennifer Wood of Cleveland, Christina Warren (Wayne) of Chattanooga, and David Adams of Chattanooga; two sisters, Marie Blackwell (Michael) and Denise Coleman (Bobby) both of Cleveland; his granddaughter, Amelia; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 2pm to 3:30pm at Grace Assembly of God on Westland Drive in Cleveland. A celebration of his life will follow at 3:30pm with Rev. Steve Lewis officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests gifts be sent to the Grace Assembly of God Building Fund.
