Wanda Eva Edds

June 21, 1964 — August 4, 2022

Wanda Eva Edds, 58, a resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Thursday afternoon, August 4, 2022. She was born in Crownsville, Maryland on June 21, 1964, a daughter of the late William Edds Sr. & Myrtle Short Edds. Wanda was a member of the Benton Church of God. Her Christian faith was the core of who she was. During her battle with cancer, she leaned into that faith even more and took comfort in the fact that eternity’s shore was closer than ever. Her hobbies included cooking, singing, playing piano, playing Words with Friends, and watching movies with her family. She also loved playing with her 3 cats (Juno, Baby, and TC).

Ask anyone and they’ll tell you that Wanda’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She loved being a mom and treated everyone as if they were her family. Her children were her smile. No matter how old her children were, it made no difference to Wanda. She was Mom and she would make sure her kids knew how loved they were. Her love for her family was immeasurable and enough to last infinite lifetimes.
In addition to parents, Wanda is also preceded in death by three brothers William “Bill” Edds Jr., Roberts Edds and Paul Edds.
Wanda leaves behind to cherish her memory her three children Christina Edwards, Amber Edwards and Michael Hollenbach, one sister Peggy Licata (Jerry), one brother Brownell Edds (Lorraine) and numerous other extended family members. The beautiful thing about family is that it can expand beyond blood relatives. Though they’re not biologically related, Wanda loved the following people as if they were her own children: Tehya Bivens, Austin Godfrey, Ryan Godfrey, Jesse Gross, Dustin Raper, and Eric Yazbeck.
A celebration of Wanda’s life is planned for Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Benton Church of located at 587 Clemmer Ferry Road in Benton, TN with the Reverend Jerry Herron officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 PM until the 2:00 PM service time. The interment and committal service will follow in the Lee Cemetery in McDonald, TN.
You are encouraged to share a memory of Wanda and/or your personal condolences with her family by visiting her memorial webpage and guestbook at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral Home is honored to assist her family with these arrangements.
