Wanda Davis Rominger

April 18, 1943 — March 30, 2023

Wanda Davis Rominger left this earthly realm on March 30, 2023, after a long battle of cancer with her family by her side. She was 79 years old. Wanda was preceding death by her father and mother, Ira and Katherine Davis and father and mother-in-law Eugene and Christine Rominger, brothers, James, Dennis and Richard Davis, her sister Emma Lou Tinsley, her sister-in-law Patsy Cross and Ruth Ann Davis and brother-in-laws Claude Ogle Jr, Norvin Tinsley, Steve Jones, Jim Fortin, and Larry Cross.

It would be wrong to say that Wanda lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Wanda stayed strong. Many people have said “She is the strongest person I know”. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Wanda. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight but she received her heavenly reward.

When Wanda’s children were young, the phrase “stay-at-home-mom” didn’t exist. It was usual for women to stay home with the children while their husbands worked. But even by the standards of the era, Wanda was an exceptional wife and prayer partner to Bill, to whom she was married to him for 64 years, and loving mother to her four children. She cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help. She regularly brought meals to the home of sick neighbors, always taking her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to ball practice or games and was always there to support them in what they did. Wanda always ensured that every child who crossed her path was safe, healthy, and happy. Wanda was a mom and grandmother (Meme) to everyone. She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children.

She leaves behind the love of her life of sixty-four years, Bill: her children, Gary Rominger, Alan (Angie) Rominger, Keith (Stephanie) Rominger and Kelli (Chris) Edwards: grandchildren, Katie (Adam) Willingham, Justin (Brandie) Rominger, Jeremy (Carrie) Rominger, Heidi (John) Robella, Meghan (Jacob) Moody, Alex Rominger, Kristen Edwards, Christopher Edwards (aka Bubba) and Jordyn McAlister: great-grandchildren, Emily (Kyle) Pindar, Addyson Willingham, James Gray, Brodie King, Cooper Rominger, Kyndall Rominger, Brantley Willingham, Fiona Robella, Aria Robella, Quinn Robella, and Tessa Moody: great-great grandchildren, Kyler and Taylyn Pindar: sisters, Nancy Ogle and Freda (Gerald) Benton: brother Ray Davis: sister-in-laws, Norma Davis, Edwina (Gene) Dasher, Jackie (Dave) Giordano, Geri Rominger and Rhonda Jones.

Family and Friends will gather Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 2 to 4 at Mt. Olive Ministries to honor Wanda’s life. The celebration of her life will be held at 4 pm at Mt. Olive Ministries with Rev. James Sears, Rev. Gary Sears and Rev. Paul Lee officiating the service.

Wanda was laid to rest at Mt. Olive Church of God gravesite with the grandsons as pallbearers: Christopher Edwards, Justin Rominger, Jeremy Rominger, Adam Willingham, Jacob Moody, and John Robella. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to Mt. Olive Ministries in Wanda's name.
