Wanda Carolyn Riggs

October 6, 1929 — February 5, 2023

Wanda was born in Rossville, GA in 1929 to Homer and the Reverend Amanda Miller. She grew up in Cleveland, TN and LaPorte Indiana. She graduated from Lee High/College and Lee College. She finished her degree in textiles/interior design at the University of GA in Athens. She was a retired interior design artist. She took up painting in 2020 when she and the rest of the world had to stay home. She loved spending time with her kids, grandchildren and her many, many friends.

She resided in Ringgold, GA for the past 16 years. She attended and was one of the first members of the Redemption Point Church of God previously, Missionary Ridge and Woodmore Church of God.


Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Amanda Miller; grandsons Nathan Horne and Casey Giddy; granddaughters Jennifer Horne and Chastity Barnes, Morris P. Riggs and son-in-law, Deryl Adams.


She leaves behind her daughters Teri Adams and Tina Drennan(Johnny); son, Tim Riggs (Sherri); grandchildren Heather Gann (Jonathan), Jason Barnes, Bryson Riggs (Kathryn), Heath Drennan, Jordan Shuler (Jeremy); great grandchildren Andrew, Mason, Madison, Alexis, Chance, Cage, Everly, Jackson, Destinee, Jacob, Brooklyn, Ella Grace, and great-great grandchild, Thomas.


She was an inspiration to everyone that met her and her kindness and faith in the Lord were unwavering. In her generous nature she donated her body to science. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11 at the Redemption Point Church of God, 3831 Ooltewah, TN 37363 with Pastor Travis Ballinger officiating. Visitation will be at 3:00 with the service at 4:00. Donations may be made to the National Kidney Assoc., or to Redemption Point Church of God Senior Ministries.
