Virginia "Jenny" Davis

Virginia Presswood Ellis “Jenny” Davis, 86, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away on Tuesday July 4, 2017. Virginia was an avid craft maker, her specialty being Christmas decorations which she has given to many grandkids and close family friend, Gretta Parker. She could be seen at many basketball & baseball games watching her great-grandsons, Keegan & Knox Farkas, Carter & Cooper Casteel, and great-granddaughters Karly & Khloe Farkas play. She enjoyed decorating at Christmas, as she would display her 25+ Christmas trees of all sizes and her famous Dickens Christmas Village. She enjoyed her days watching the “Cowboy Channel”, sitting on the front porch overlooking the lake with “Princess” the cat, her napping buddy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Gertrude Presswood; husband, John William Davis; sisters, Barbara Jean Presswood, Lynda Presswood Suggs, Evelyn Presswood Lee, and Helen Presswood Rose; brother, Bill Presswood; son-in-law, Sam Shamblin; nephew, Chad Presswood; and great-grandson, Kaiden Farkas.
Jenny leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Jimmy (Carolyn) Ellis, Judy Shamblin, Jerry Ellis, Jana (Waymon) Casteel; grandchildren, Sean Cawood, Amy (Darryl) Farkas, Adam (Lisa) Casteel, Jami Ellis Standridge, and Jennifer Ellis; great-grandchildren, Keegan Farkas, Karly Farkas, Khloe Farkas, Knox Farkas, Carter Casteel, and Cooper Casteel; brother, Larry Presswood; brother-in-law, Robert Lee; nephews, Victor Lee, Lance Suggs, and Wayne Black; nieces, Connie Presswood Golden and Sheila Presswood Wilson, along with numerous extended family and friends.
A celebration of life service is planned for 7:00pm on Friday July 7, 2017 at the Philippi Baptist Church, located at 2484 Harrison Pike Cleveland, Tennessee 37311. Pastors Vic Lee and Sammy Hooker will be officiating the service.
The family will receive friends three hours prior, from 4:00pm until the 7:00pm service time.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday July 8, 2017 in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Sean Cawood, Adam Casteel, Darryl Farkas, Keegan Farkas, Lance Suggs, and Wesley Daus will be serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Carter Casteel, Cooper Casteel, and Knox Farkas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
