Vina B. Herron

Vina B Herron, 87, of Cleveland, TN left for Heaven on September 27, 2021 surrounded by her children. She was born on June 30, 1934 to the late William Alexander and Maggie Irene Parker. Vina was a member of Phillipi Baptist Church in Clevleand, TN. Vina received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the Univeristy of TN at Chattanooga. She retired from TN Department of Human Services, where she worked for many years as a social worker. Vina was an avid reader and loved music. She performed for several years with the group, The Roaring Fifties. She continued to sing with her sister and niece until her death.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Maggie Parker Williams and William A Parker; husband of 59 years Billy Joe Herron; siblings: Wesley Parker, Edward Parker, Edna Logan, Ann Holder, Rosetta Finnell, D.C. Parker, H.L. Parker, Cierro Parker, Selene Parker, Edith Headrick, Eva Noblett, Roxie Rogers, Jane Talley, and Kate Padgett.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children: Cindy Holtsclaw (Dee) of Cleveland, Chris Herron (Lynne) of Benton, Sandra Herron-Johnson (Eddie) of Cleveland; siblings: Shirley Hollifield (Jack) of Cleveland, Jim Williams (Diane) of Cleveland; brother and sisters in law: Edith Rollins of Cleveland, Joyce Moser (Clint) Cleveland, Coy Herron (Linda) of Cleveland, grandchildren: Jennifer Williams (Shaun) of Benton, Amy Eiberger (Wayne) of Ocoee, Bethany Souza (Robert) of Clevleand, Leah Thompson (Michael) of Kingston, Erik Holtsclaw of New York, Kevin Johnson of Collegedale, Brandon Sprague of Riceville; seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to these, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Vina’s life will be held at 2pm on Thursday September 30th at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home with a visitation prior from 12pm until 2pm. She will be laid to rest following the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Pastor Teresa Norman will be officiating.
