Vera H. Kinches

Vera H. Kinches, age 90, of Cleveland, TN passed suddenly from this life to her eternal home in Heaven on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.
She was born in Knoxville, TN to the late John H. & Edna E. Henson. She and her family moved from Knoxville to Cleveland, OH when she was 16. That was where she met and married Richard Long and had a son, Rick Long. In 1961, she returned to Tennessee with her second husband, John Kinches and children when her husband was transferred to the newly opened Mallory Battery Plant in Cleveland, TN. Cleveland, TN has been home to her ever since.
Vera was an active member at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church since it was established in 1961. She spent countless hours volunteering at the church over the years. She had a huge passion for the church and for her savior, Jesus Christ . She wanted all of her friends and family to know about the love of God. She was loved dearly by everyone in the church. She still attended faithfully as her health would allow.
She loved spending time with her family, friends, and going to church. She also loved to bake and prepare meals for her loved ones over the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Kinches, her son Rick Long, and two brothers Jack Henson and Bob Henson.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, one brother, John Henson, Jr. and wife Nancy of Brunswick Hills, OH, one sister Carolyn Tindera and husband Marty of Olmstead Township, OH, one son Kenneth Kinches of Cleveland, TN, one daughter Lynne Jenkins and husband Randy of Charleston, TN, four grandchildren, John Zook and wife Vonny of Cleveland, TN, Kenneth (Bud) Kinches of Cleveland, TN, Lisa Eichhammer and Stephanie Spangenberg of Maryland, seven great grandchildren, Meghan and Matthew Zook of Georgetown, TN, Caden and Chase Spangenberg, Jada Eichhammer of Maryland, and Richard and Mason Goenawan of Cleveland, TN, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved church family at Wesley.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church on Peerless Rd. Visitation will be from 2-4 and a memorial service following at 4 with Chris Rouse Officiating.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Ministries of Wesley Memorial UMC at 3405 Peerless Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37312
