Ulyss James Calfee

Ulyss James Calfee, 90, of Cleveland, TN passed away on January 1, 2023. He was born on March 27, 1932 to the late Urbane Calfee and Tillie Goins Calfee. Ulyss was a hard-working Dairy Farmer by trade. He also served as the Chairman of the Ambulance Service Board for 20 years and was a former Bradley County Commissioner. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved his family dearly.

In addition to his mother and father he is preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Ramsey; two grandchildren: Ryan Ramsey and Melissa Ramsey; sisters Willystene Calfee and Irene Gaddis; brothers Allen Calfee and Albert Calfee.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 70 years, Bonnie Calfee; son Randall Calfee; sister Helen Calfee; granddaughters Heather Cox and Christie Brown; great grandchildren Kendrick Cox, Kaylyn Cox, and Ashley Brown.

Ulyss’ family will receive friends from 12pm until 2pm at Companion Funeral Home on Saturday January 7th with a graveside service to follow at 2:30pm at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Kendrick Cox, Dominique Cox, Allen Calfee Jr., Dewyane Calfee, Brian Gentry, and Danny Lawson will serve as pallbearers.
