Trent Franklin Haupt

Trent Franklin Haupt, 52, of Ringgold, GA passed away on November 27, 2022. Trent was a 1989 graduate of The McCallie School where he was an All City Tackle. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1993 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. He immediately moved to Jacksonville, FL to work for Gilman Building Products. At the age of 27, he was diagnosed with brain cancer which he fought and survived over 24 years. He was a lifelong member of Brainerd Baptist Church. He had an amazing dry wit, a smile that lit up a room and loved unconditionally. He loved the University of Georgia Bulldogs and was so happy to see them win another National Championship and to see the Braves win another World Series. He married his “Love” in 2009, bound by love for each other, the Dawgs and the Braves. He became a father to Mackenzie who he loved as a father should.


He is preceded in death by paternal grandparents George and Marie Haupt and maternal grandparents James H and Ila Mae Franklin.


Survived by his “Love”, Tracey Porter Haupt, daughter Mackenzie Porter, parents Terry and Libby Haupt, brother Terry Haupt, Jr. Mother in law Sandi Trundle, sisters and brothers in law, David Porter, Kelly and Susan Evans, Scott and Becky Self. Nephews and nieces Harrison, Harper, Victoria, Anna, Katie, Faith, Taylor, Kyle and AJ. He also leaves behind lifelong friends Scott, Dan, Gene and Ray.


The family would like to thank the multitudes of people who prayed for so many years and to Amedysis Hospice for your wonderful care.
