Tommie Clayton Stephenson

Tommie Clayton Stephenson, 86, a resident of Cleveland died peacefully on January 7, 2016.
She was born on Easter Sunday, March 31, 1929 to the late Cora Roberson and Tom Clayton of Red Clay, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlie William Stephenson; her brothers: William Clayton, James E. Clayton and Kenneth Ivan Clayton; her grandson Jeff Bandy and son-in-laws: Jerry Bandy and Paul Rayfield.
She graduated from Cohutta High School in 1947 where she was named, “Miss Cohutta”. She retired from Magic Chef with 24 years of service in 1991. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Cleveland.
She enjoyed the company of family and friends, embroidering, working puzzles and going to the mountains.
Survivors include daughters: Maryln Bandy (T.), Vicki Rayfield, Johnnie Bandy and Debbie Moore (Ron) all of Cleveland; grandchildren: Tommy Bandy (Missy), Amy Self (Brad), Paula Rayfield, Jason Bandy (Angel), Ashley Coleman (Dustin) and Will Moore (Alliea), Donna Bandy; her greatgrandchildren: Kaylee Bandy, Deanna Self, Hailey Self, Dylan Wilson , Brandon Rayfield, Corey Bandy, Clay Bandy, McKayla McCarter, Avery Coleman, Harper Coleman and Greyson Moore; sister-in-laws: Evie Lee Clayton and Helen Catlett and a host of friends and several nieces and nephews.
The Celebration of Life service will be conducted at Companion Funeral Home on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 5 p.m. with Rev. Marvin Howard and grandson Tommy Bandy officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2pm until 5pm on Sunday at the funeral home. A private burial service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
