Timothy James Delk

Timothy James Delk, 61, of Cleveland, TN passed away on April 21, 2023 after a very brief illness. Tim was born on October 10, 1961 in Knoxville, TN to the late George and Linda Delk. Those who knew Tim will forever remember his positive attitude and sheer love for life. He brought positivity in every circle he found himself in. Tim retired from Cleveland Utilities after 34 years of dedicated service. He had a deep love for the outdoors and spending time in the mountains or fishing were two of his favorite activities. He enjoyed traveling and going on cruises with his family and close friends. Later in life, Tim developed a love for pickle ball, sometimes even playing multiple hours in a day! He was an avid Tennessee Vols Football fan and loved supporting his team. Above all things, Tim cared deeply for his family and loved spending time with them more than anything. He was especially fond of “His Girls,” his beloved granddaughters, who knew him as “Papa D.” Tim was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 36 years, Lori Brewster Delk; son Logan Delk (Angel); daughter Morgan Queen (David); three granddaughters: Caroline, Olivia, and Madelyn Queen; siblings: Gene Delk (Cheryl), Teresa Allen, Ira Mae Varner (Jack), and John Delk (Daphne); brothers and sisters in law: Gill and Lisa Brewster, Jeff and Kellye Huff, and Karen and Jason Blomdahl. In addition to these, Tim leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at 5pm on Sunday April 23rd at First Baptist Church Cleveland with Rev. Tom Wickes and Rev. Jim Gibson officiating. His family will receive friends from 2pm until the 5pm service at the church.
