Tim Lawson

August 30, 1956 — September 17, 2021

Tim was born in Cleveland, TN to Noah and Ann (Boyer) Lawson on August 30, 1956. He was a 1974 graduate of Bradley Central and a 1996 graduate of Covenant College. He worked for McKee Foods for 38 years before retiring. He was a member of Cornerstone Community Cumberland Presbyterian Church. On September 17, 2021 he succumbed to the evils of Covid, yet that very minute he was rejoicing with the angels of heaven.

Preceding him in death are his parents (Noah and Ann), maternal grandparents, Labe and Virtle (Hunt) Boyer, paternal grandparents Frank and Lomar (Callahan) Lawson. Granddaughter Gracye Ann Lawson.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 44 years Tana Sue (Lewis); sons and daughter in law: Justin, Shaun and Shea; brother Terry; brother in law Garold (Nancy) Lewis, cousin Judy (Thomas) Harris; and five granddaughters who were his world: Malorie, Josie, Emma, Kynsley, and Aubree.

Tim was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and TN Vols. Winning or losing he would be watching them every chance possible. He barely missed the Braves winning the World Series.

He loved 70’s music and the stories behind the songs. David Carroll made his last few years a dream come true when he asked for help pulling songs together for his radio programs. Tim would beam whenever the Vinyl Express credits would be given and David would announce that today’s program was written by Tim Lawson.
