Sylvia Gail Huff

Sylvia Gail Huff, age 72, left this world to rejoice in Heaven on Thursday, July 2, 2020. Born August 17, 1947, to the late James Edward and Laura Ann “Sammie” Underdown, Gail was a lifelong resident of McMinn County. A woman with a servant’s heart, Gail was a long-time member of Liberty Church of Jesus Christ in Riceville, TN. In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoyed writing poetry, sewing, and crocheting-often making gifts for family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 52 years, Mickey Huff of Athens; daughter Michele and her husband Stanley Welch of Decatur, TN; daughter Kim and her husband Dexter Morris of Riceville, TN; son Sean Huff and his love Stephanie Rose of Cleveland, TN; seven grandchildren: Riley and Delaney Stinnett, Briar Welch, Lauren and Nevaeh Morris, and Gunnar and Erilynn Huff. She is also survived by her two dear sisters- Jane Barnes of Murfreesboro, TN, and Terry and her husband Jerry Bacon of Athens, TN, along with other precious family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the Athens Chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 400 S White Street in Athens, TN.
The family will have a celebration of life service in a private ceremony with Pastor Jason Kennedy at a later time.
