Steve Kenneth “Kenny” Barnett, 87, passed away November 3, 2022, at Life Care Center of Rhea County. Steve was born February 11, 1935, in Englewood, Tn to the late Mary Lou and Steve “Scobie” Barnett. He attended Tennessee Wesleyan for college and was a lifelong Tennessee VOLS fan. He worked for Bowater, American Electrical, Luria Brothers Metal Recycling, and a dedicated employee at The Nestle company for many, many years, where he later retired.
Steve was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps and the Tennessee National Guard. He was sworn in and attended boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina in late 1954. He was honorably discharged from the U.S.M.C. in 1958.
He is preceded in death by his brothers James “Red” Barnett and Robert Barnett.
He is survived by his loving wife, Anne Barnett, his two children Elizabeth Hodge (Darren) and Timothy S. Barnett., Grandchildren, Ethan Hodge, and Keely Hodge-Rose (Caleb), and great granddaughter, Penelope Rose.
