Shirley Y. Brewer

Shirley Y. Brewer, 77, of Cleveland, TN passed away on May 8, 2022. She was born on Christmas Day in 1944 to the late Anderson and Mamie Moore. Shirley was a lifelong resident of this area. Before her illness, she was a tremendously Godly woman who was very active in her church, Community Chapel Church of God under Pastor Buddy Brewer. Shirley was a hard working wife and mother who loved spending time with her family and taking care of them. Shirley, alongside her husband Tommy, founded and ran two businesses: Tom Brewer Furniture and Tom Brewer Rentals. She worked very hard providing for her family.
In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Jackie Wayne, Freddie, and Wanda.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 64 years, Tommy Brewer; children: Tommy Brewer, Bruce Brewer, Susan Brewer, Philip Brewer; siblings: David Moore, Gwenith Lyles, Judy Moore, Janet Keys, Darlene Baugh; grandchildren: Tommy Brewer Jr., Jacob Brewer, Daryl Richeson, Mitchell Ramsey, Katelyn Nation, Travis Brewer, and Melissa Godfrey. In addition to these she leaves behind fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at 3pm on Thursday May 12, 2022 at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home. Her family will receive friends from 12pm until the service at 3pm. She will be laid to rest at Earl’s Cemetery.
