Obituary
Shawn Patrice Jacobs was born in New York City on April 20th, 1971. In 1988 she moved to Orlando, FL with her mother, Joan Edwards and her siblings. There she met and married Paul Jacobs on September 17th, 1991. Out of that union was born her four children: Christian, Timothy, Gianna and Te'Aaira. Shawn and her family moved to Cleveland, TN in 1997. She immediately fell in love with Cleveland and lived her the rest of her life. Shawn was a devoted Christian who became an ordained minister and served in Faith & Fire Ministries. Shawn worked at Check Into Cash where she received recognition for her tireless devotion to excellence. She achieved many awards and was promoted to Accounting Systems Manager. Shawn graduated from Kaplin University with a BA and was a lifetime learner. Despite having her own family, Shawn was always ready to help others. She unselfishly gave of herself as well as volunteered her time to various causes when possible. Shawn was creative and inventive. She designed her own line of clothing which was chosen to be modeled in a fashion show in Washington, DC. Shawn was also a talented interior decorator. She designed her home on a tight budget using her natural talent make it a showcase. Shawn opened her doors to people in need and after allowed them to live with her family for a short while. She also had a policy of feeding the hungry. On Thanksgiving she and her children would invite people to dinner who otherwise would not eat or eat alone.

Shawn touched people's lives in a special way. She was loved by many.

On April 28th, 2014 she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and passed away on June 29th, 2015. Her family will always hold her in their hearts.

Shawn in preceded in death by her father Ronald Mitchell.

In addition to her mother Joan and her children, Shawn leaves behind to cherish her memory one sister Gail Edwards, two brothers Nathaniel Broughty and William Edwards, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A Home Going Service is planned for Tuesday, July 7th, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Jamie Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow in the Tasso United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday night, July 6th, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the funeral home chapel . And also on Tuesday two hours prior to the home going service.
