Scott Wayne Keen

January 6, 1959 — December 16, 2022

Scott Wayne Keen, 63, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly at this home on December 16, 2022. He was born to parents Sandra Keen Brickner and Donald William Keen, Sr, on January 6, 1959, in Woodbury, New Jersey.

Scott grew up in Bridgeport, New Jersey, and enjoyed spending time on the Racoon Creek. His love of the water eventually led him to become a captain working on his father’s tugboat. Bridgeport also introduced Scott to his second love, dirt track racing. Growing up watching Kenny Brightbill at the Speedway and eventually racing his big block modified, Scott’s racing career culminated in winging it with the Florida Mini Sprint Association earning the title of Most Dedicated Racer. Scott may have never had the newest cars or motors, but he had grit and determination.

Scott could always be found with a smile and made friends wherever he went - he never met a stranger. He loved sitting on your porch or at your kitchen table, playing cards and cracking jokes. He found great joy in caring for his yard, which led him to start a lawn service business. Scott was laid back and easygoing - sometimes, a little too much. One time, when driving with his girlfriend from Florida to New Jersey to meet his parents for the first time, he only packed a toothbrush!

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald William Keen, and is survived by his mother, Sandra Keen Brickner, his son, Austin Scott Keen, and daughter Stephanie Bilz (Matt). In addition to his two children, he is also survived by his brother Donald W. Keen, Jr. (Alicia), brother Michael H. Keen (Samantha), sister Shelley Keen Herrman (Jared), and dear friend Michele Saraceni. Scott also had three grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins he loved.

No memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.
