Sarah Ozell Dietz

Sarah Ozell Dietz, 93, of Ringgold, GA passed away on January 11, 2020. She was born on September 20, 1926 to the late Alvis E. Sr. and Maude Arendale. Sarah was a loving and supportive pastor’s wife for 61 years. Currently, they are serving at Gospel Way Baptist Church, where they have served for 26 years. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family. She loved and cared for her family deeply and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her mother and father she is preceded in death by her siblings: Alvis E. Arendale Jr., Johnny Arendale, and Waco Arendale; son Daniel Lamar Dietz.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband Rev. Lamar Dietz; sons: Edward (Waynette) Nolen and Hank (Barbara) Nolen; daughters: Nancy Mammen, Joy (Jim) Bolton, and Christine (Robbie) Littlejohn; daughter in law Starla Dietz; sisters: Mary Fugate, Dorothy (Kenneth) Brady, and Katherine Caylor; brother in law OC Dietz and sister in law Faye (Bill) Martin; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday January 14, 2020 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Gospel Way Baptist Church located at 31 S. Bowling Lane, Ringgold, GA 30736. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday January 15, 2020 at the church with burial to follow in the Dietz Family Cemetery.

The family would like to give special thanks to friends from Gospel Way Baptist Church: Janet Heard, Tina Smith, April Stevens, Linda Patton, Joyce Goodson, and Marti and Mary Ella. They would also like to thank the Hospice of Chattanooga South Team: Erin, Krysty, Renee, Amanda, Juliean, Christy, Jason and Dr. Richey.
