Samuel Gregory Johnson, 55, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at his home. He was a retired Journeyman from the Local 704 Iron Workers in Chattanooga, TN. Sam was an avid pool player with the American Poolplayers Association, who loved Nascar, motorcycles, and travelling. He adored his grandchildren, and will be terribly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel J. and Virginia P. Johnson; mother-in-law Barbara Borders. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Borders Johnson of Cleveland; children: Megan Johnson (Jared) of Flat Rock, Alabama, Brittany Bridges (Brad Jr.) of Bryant, Alabama, Kelly Johnson and Josh Johnson (Brooklyn) of McCaysville, Georgia; stepsons Colby Holcomb (Sarah) of Cleveland, and Jordan Holcomb (Blanca) of New London, Connecticut; five grandchildren; Amelia Dickerson, Jonas Dickerson, Wyatt Bridges, Kennedy Bridges, and Samuel “Liam” Johnson; siblings: Pam Huff (Paul), Karen Hilton, and Joel Johnson (Rhonda), all of Cleveland; father-in-law, Jack Borders of Cleveland; sister-in-laws: Sherry Cross (Patrick) and Sandee Allison (Martin), all of Cleveland; brother-in-law Jack Borders (Teresa) of Cleveland, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his special furry friends, Ella and Lil’ Jack.

The family will be a holding a memorial gathering on Tuesday, 10, 2019 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland, TN (2415 Georgetown Rd NW Cleveland, TN 37311).
