Roy Forgey

Roy Forgey, 71, of Cleveland, TN passed away on July 16, 2022. He was born on December 31, 1950. He attended South Cleveland Church of God and Kinser Church of God. He worked for Magic Chef/Whirlpool for 30+ years. Roy was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Earnhardt. He was an animal lover and loved caring for his pets, while also raising baby cattle and goats. Roy could always be found staying busy “piddling” with something. Roy was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lake Andrew and Opal Lee Dixon Forgey; wife Frankie Carolyn Dale Forgey; sister Shirline Forgey Ensley.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children Michelle Bivens (Rev. John Bivens); twin brother Troy Forgey (Gay); special nieces Angela Harris (Ray) and Bethany Forgey; special great nieces and nephews: Emily Harris-Miller (Lucas), Addason Harris, and Abby Harris. In addition to these he leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends.

Roy’s family will receive friends at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home from 11am until 1pm on Wednesday July 20th with a service to follow at 1pm with Rev. Leroy Forgey and Rev. John Bivens officiating. He will be laid to rest following the service at Fort Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kasen Cate, Lucas Harris-Miller, Addason Harris, Ray Harris, Chris Dale, Bobby Dale, and Shaun Rapier.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hearth Hospice, Dr. Obadias Marques, and his sitters Lucinda O’Boyle, Kimberly Smith, and Danielle Nelms for all of their care and compassion shown to Roy during this difficult time. They would also like to let people know that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cleveland Animal Control Shelter Adoption Fund.
