Ronnie Hanes Burkhart

Ronnie Hanes Burkhart, age 71, peacefully went to the be with the Lord on August 24, 2021.

He left behind a loving wife of 32 years, Diane Burkhart, a song and daughter-in-law from Nashville, Shane and Stephanie Burkhart. A granddaughter Abigail Burkhart from Nashville, TN and his stepchildren, Brandon and Billy Perry, BreAnn Perry and future husband Zach Thomas, and Brittany Perry all from Meigs County, TN, Christian DeLorenzo from New Jersey, and a loving mother-in-law Ruth Norton from Greeneville, TN. A brother and sister-in-law Gary and Frankie Norton and sons Garrett, from Greenville, Joshua and Shea from FL and Travis and Adia Norton from Texas. Several nieces and nephews. And his very special little friend Titian Firestone from Meigs County, TN. His loving cousins William and Janice Burkhart and their children, Bridgett and Tammy of Harrison, TN; Danny, Donna, and Bobby Pruitt of Ooltewah, TN and good friend, Gary Brown.

He was preceded in death by his son, Travis Wade Burkhart; mother and father, Herman and Mary Sue Burkhart; father-in-law Cecil Norton; one brother, William E. Burkhart and sister-in-law Geraldine Burkhart and stepdaughter Brandi LeAnne Perry.
At Ronnie’s request there will be no services. For those that knew and loved him, he wanted his time here on earth remembered for the good time and to be celebrated.

Ronnie was a loving man, devoted to his family, who loved making people laugh. He was a native of Hixson, TN, where he was an all-star football player during his high school years at Hixson High School before moving to Ooltewah, TN. He loved growing plants and operated Burkhart Farm and Greenhouse for several years. During his retirement, he enjoyed making wood crafts.

Ronnie was a strong man who never complained during the last 6 years of his battle with cancer. He was tired and ready to go home. He died peacefully in his sleep. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
