Robert Theodore Stoetzner

March 22, 1940 — April 17, 2021

Robert Theodore Stoetzner went home to be with his Savior on April 17, 2021 after a lengthy battle with Muscular Dystrophy.
He was born March 22, 1940 in Utica, NY, son of the late Edwin and Martha Stoetzner and preceded in death by brother Arthur Stoetzner. Robert grew up in Millers Mills and graduated from West Winfield Central High School in 1958, Delhi Agriculture and Tech in 1960, and Iowa State University in 1964. Robert was united in marriage to Jeanne on June 1, 1963. He retired in 1995 after a 31-year career as a civil engineer with the New York State Department of Transportation. Robert was born again in Christ in August 1962 and was active in a number of churches, notably as a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In retirement he did work for Baptist International Missions Inc. in Harrison, TN. Robert was a fan of the NY Yankees, enjoyed traveling, and wintering in Florida.
He is survived by his loving wife Jeanne Stoetzner of 57 years and their children: Karen (Henry) Kicinski, Edwin (Jil) Stoetzner, Beth (John) Hornak, John (Tammy) Stoetzner, Robert (Mary) Stoetzner, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Marjorie Stoetzner Bowering, nieces, and nephews.
A special thank you to the nurses and staff of Heartlite Hospice at Dalton, GA for all their care.
The family will hold a private graveside memorial service at a later date in New York.
