Robert James Barson

Robert James Barson of Athens, Tennessee passed away after a courageous battle with Covid on 03/01/2022. Born on 03/31/1957 in Detroit, Michigan, Robert was raised in West Bloomfield, Michigan. He attended Brother Rice High School and graduated class of 1975. Robert had a talent of being able to fix 60-70's era electronics. Robert lived most of his life in Detroit, Michigan and then moved to Athens, Tennessee, where he lived a life of relaxation and leisure. Robert had a tremendous sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. He knew how to light up a room with quick wit and humor. He loved watching classic old movies and re-runs of The Golden Girls.

Robert is predeceased by his Father James R. Barson, and his mother Judith A Hahnenberg.

Robert is survived by his brothers Michael C. Barson of Palm Beach, Florida; Christopher A. Barson of Alexandria, Virginia; and his sister Mary M. Barson of Athens, Tennessee, as well as his stepfather, Dean Hahnenberg of Knoxville, Tennessee. Our family would like to extend our appreciation to Lance E. Kirkwood - Robert's best friend and caregiver.

Robert will be missed by all who knew him.
