Robert Boggild

March 22, 1923 — July 13, 2019

Robert Boggild (Bob) 96, of New Hope, TN, flew off into glory July 13, 2019. Bob served in the Army-Airforce and Army in WWII on the Manhattan Project with the Special Engineer Detachment in Oak Ridge and the Phillipines. He was an engineer, pilot, sailor, and inventor. Bob Held 21 Patents, the most well known being the Play-Doh Fun Factory which became one of the top 100 toys of all time. He loved big bands of the 40’s and his favorite song,”Always” by Irving Berlin, which was his tribute to his wife (chigger). He was an avid South Pittsburg Pirate football fan, “Go Pirates!” and of the Protestant faith.
He was preceded in deah by his parents, Axel and Maja Boggild of Odense, Denmark and Trumbull, CT.
He is survived by his wife, Madge Elizabeth; son, Rod of Cincinatti, OH; daughters, Candace and Susan of New Hope, TN; sister, Doris Litke of Hartford, CT; 2 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, cousins in the U.S. and in Denmark.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
