Robert "Bob" Cleatus Cody

Robert Cletus Cody, 76, of Cleveland, TN passed away on May 6, 2016. He was born on January 21, 1940 to the late Walter Gudger Cody and Eliza Grace Cody. Bob was a lifelong resident of this area, of the Baptist faith, and a member of Four Points Baptist Church. He loved music and singing with various groups such as his church choir, the “Roaring Fifties,” and “Southern Traditions.”
In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by a brother in law Jimmy Hutson.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 57 years Joyce Cody; daughter Robin Striker; sister Virginia Hutson; grandchildren: Chris Burnette and Cody Burnette and his wife Beth; great grandchildren Alyssa Hooper, Bailey Burnette, and Micah Burnette; son in law Michael Burnette. In addition to these, he leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 37311 on Monday May 9, 2016. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home on Sunday May 8, 2016. Interment will follow the service on Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
