Obituary

Richard Ira Davis, 76, of Cleveland, TN passed away at a Chattanooga hospital on Wednesday September 30, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents Ira L. and Katherine Kington Davis; one brother James L. Davis; sister Emmalou Tinsley; grandparents: Luther and Emma Davis, John and Katie Kington and infant brother Denis.

He was a veteran of the US Army and an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He loved gardening tomatoes and cucumbers. Most of all he loved spending time with his four legged friend Oscar. He was also a retired wholesale car dealer and truck driver.

He is survived by his wife Norma Graham Davis; four children and spouses: Curt and Teresa Davis, Sherry and Tim Bryant, Jean and Jack Hall, and Tyler and Theresa Greeson. He is also survived by his grandchildren and spouses: Chad and Brittney Davis, Nolan and Katie Davis, Jillian and John Wescott, Jesse Hall, Clark and Jenny Bryant and Chelsea Bryant, and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Wanda Rominger and husband Billy, Nancy Ogle and husband Claude, Freda Benton and husband Gerald and Ray Davis and wife Ruth Ann.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Friday October 2, 2015 at Mount Olive Ministries with Pastor Clarence Gammill, Rev. Jimmy Graham, and Pastor Gary Sears officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 3:00pm prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Mount Olive Cemetery with Wayne Thomason, William Thomason, Allan Rominger, Keith Rominger, Dwight Tinsley, and Scott Graham serving as pallbearers. Tim Harden, Roger Butler, and Jeff Davis will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Clay Pot fund at Mount Olive Ministries.
