Richard Herman Dye

Richard Herman Dye, 80, went home to be with the Lord on June 30, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Sept. 28, 1938 to the late Earl Dye and Annie Lucy Dye.
Richard loved music and was well known for his guitar playing. He loved playing and singing gospel music and he has traveled and played guitar and sang with several different gospel groups. Richard was a member of Victory Faith Church. He will be greatly missed by family and friends who knew him.
In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his sister Marie Cooley and Sue Thomas.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Becky Hooker Dye; daughter Tina Maxwell; son Richard Allen Dye; brothers Robert Dye and wife Judy; William Dye and wife Francis; sister Phyllis Crumley; step daughters: Melanie Hooker Lawson; Meredith Hicks and husband Shane; Misty Nichols. In addition to these he leaves behind several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and two very special sisters in law Carol Henry and Diane Williams who assisted with his caregiving.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Wednesday July 3, 2019 at Victory Faith Church located at 1253 King Edward Ave SE Cleveland, Tennessee 37311. A celebration of life service will be held at the church at 1:00pm with Pastor Gary Farris officiating. A graveside service will follow the funeral at McInturff Cemetery in Birchwood, TN.
