Obituary

Reverend Loyal R. “L. R.” (Papa) Pinkard, 85, a current resident of Cleveland, TN was transferred from this life to his eternal home on Thursday night, August 7th, 2014. L.R. was born in Double Springs, AL on July 13th, 1929 a son of the late W. L. & Viola Mae Pinkard. He was minister of the Church of God for over sixty years. L.R. was a Native American Cherokee Indian of the Echota Tribe of Alabama. He was a devoted family man and pastored many churches throughout his lifetime.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Jennie Pinkard, two brothers and two sisters.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory one daughter Debbie Lesley and her husband the Reverend Ron Lesley, one grandson Jeremy Lesley and his wife Kym and their children Hannah, Jeremiah and Ryver, three sisters and three brothers all of Alabama, numerous other extended family members and host of special friends.

A graveside service is planned for Monday, August 11th, 2014 at 2:00 PM CST in the Fairview Baptist Cemetery in Double Spring, AL with the Reverend Ron Lesley, Jeremy Lesley and the Reverend Neal Pinkard officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, August 10th, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road in Cleveland, TN.
