Rev. Johnie Buck Jones was born on October 12, 1934 in Cleveland, Tennessee to Joe Brown Jones and Martha Della Scoggins.

Rev. Jones joyfully entered into the place he preached and sang about and into the arms of Jesus on March 11, 2021.

Johnie is survived by his wife Linda; his children Ron (Maria), Rachael, Bob (Denise) and Leah (Jim); his grandchildren, who called him Papa, Heather (John), Haley (Nick), Sunny, Alyssa, Fischer, Aaron and Logan and one great granddaughter Cali. He is also survived by his dear nieces and nephews as well as many other loving family and friends. Johnie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Juanita, son John Steven, one brother Bobby and two sisters Mary Frances “Sis” and Carrie Dean.

Rev. Jones was a Pastor, Poet, Preacher, Singer, Husband, Brother, Father, Grandfather “Papa”, Uncle and Friend; he faithfully represented the Church of God as a minister and was a devout Christian. Rev. Jones received his ordination in 1957; during his Ministry (1959-1997) he Pastored four Churches. God and his family were his love in life; he also loved the great outdoors, going to thrift stores and his home state of Tennessee. His life has touched many lives and he is considered family by most of those who call him friend.

Visitation is on Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 3 pm to 5 pm at Restoration Pointe Church of God, 11501 Allen Road, Southgate, Michigan 48195. The Funeral Service is on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 11 am at Restoration Pointe Church of God. There will be visitation and a service from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. with the service at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Eagles Chapel Church in Cleveland, Tennessee and the interment will take place at the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Cleveland, Tennessee. Memorial contributions to honor his life may be made to Residential Hospice Foundation, 5440 Corporate Drive, Ste. 400, Troy, MI 48098.
Rev. Jones' family has requested that everyone be required to wear a mask and observe social distancing at all times.
