Rena Mae Edington

Rena Mae Edington went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 12, 2021, at the age of 85. Rena devoted most of her life to helping others and enjoyed being the wife of a minister for over 40 years. She was a devout Christian woman and longtime member of Lakewood Baptist Church.

Rena was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Thomas Edington; her siblings, Edna, Bobby, Calvin, Raymond, Bill Newberry, and Geneva Beatty. Rena leaves behind 3 children, Jim (Kristi) Edington, Debbie Roddy, and David (Michelle) Edington, 4 grandchildren, Daniel, Chris, and Jaimi Edington, and Lindsay (Mike) Brown, 6 great-grandchildren, brother M.L. (Peggy) Newberry, sister-in-law, Mary Newberry, and many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at the Ooltewah Cemetery on March 17, 2021 at 4:00 pm with longtime friend, Rev. Donnie Holder officiating. A special thanks to Lillian Hunter who provided compassionate care to Mom.
