Rebecca "Becky" Burrell

Mrs. Rebecca (Becky) Short Burrell went to be with our Lord, Oct. 12, 2020, at her home in Ocoee, Tn. Surrounded by her family and close friends, the Burrell's and Mc Allister's. She was the youngest daughter of the late Alfred Hermon Short and Pauline Sophia (DeHass) of Chattanooga Tn. She was the loving mother of Donna Buffington of Georgia, Sandra Hancock and Berlin Cooley Jr. both of Florida. Becky loved living in "her" mountains. She was a prolific quilter and gave great joy to family and friends with her gifts of handmade quilts and other fabric art. Becky enjoyed music and baseball, especially Atlanta Braves baseball. Becky also enjoyed flea markets. and staying abreast of current affairs. She loved our Lord and shared that love with family and friends. Becky loved her grandchildren and her great grandchildren and they loved her. She is survived by her four grandchildren, Crystal Kelley, Brian (Heather) Buffington, Dustin Nichols and Michael Cooley. Also, survived by her great-grandchildren, Chase, Cowen, Konnor, Autumn, Fentin, Declin, Jasper, Alyssa, and Shyanne and great-great-grandchildren. Also, by many loving nieces and nephews spread around the U. S. and Canada. Becky was preceded in death by husband (first) Berlin Cooley and (second) Buddy Burrell both of Tennessee, one son-in-law Leonard Shane Hancock, one grandchild Patrick Ryan Dowdy, and two great grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn and Hunter Lee Ware. She was also preceded by her sisters Pauline Danforth, Constance (Cecil) Ferguson, Grace Short, Nancy H. Antone and her brother Paul G. Short. Services will be private for family only, due to the current health crisis. A memorial will be held in the future.
