Raymond Roy Willis, 71, of Cleveland, TN passed away on February 15, 2015. He was born on June 2, 1943 to the late Franklin and Lessie Willis. He has been a member of this area since 1975, moving here from DeLeon Springs, FL. He was a member of New Beginnings Fellowship Church the past 10 years. Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force (airman) and member of the American Legion. He had a love for music that led him to a position as a bass singer of The Keymasters then later Southland Harmony Quartet. He also sang with Ron Blackwood Quartet and several other singing groups. Singing was his passion. He owned and operated a pocketbook factory and chair factory. He also loved gardening and could be found at farmer's markets selling his fruits and vegetables from Spring until Fall.
In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by two brothers: Charles M Willis & Joseph L Willis; four sisters: Lois Marlin Willis, Dorothy Alberta Pinner, Marjorie Elise Rush, and Isabelle Janette Fincher.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Robbie Nell Willis, daughters Marian Willis Chamberlin of Cleveland, TN and Rebekah Joyce Krumrey of St. Louis, MO; step-son Eddie J. Pierce; brother Jimmy LeRoy Willis; sisters, Frances Erline Taylor, Frankie Ouida Mae Koppel, Mary Elon Sheridan; grandchildren: Lora Aguila, Joshua Krumrey, Hannah Chamberlin, Cala Chamberlin, Tina Duarte, and Yvonne Krumrey. In addition to these, he leaves behind several great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends, all of whom were special to him.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30am on Thursday February 19, 2015 at New Beginnings Fellowship Church located at 5653 Waterlevel Hwy, Cleveland TN 37311. The family will receive friends from 10:00am-11:30 prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
