Raymond Conner Williams

February 20, 1929 — January 30, 2023

Raymond Conner Williams, 93, of Cleveland, TN passed away on January 30, 2023. He was born on February 20, 1929 in Surgoinsville, TN to the late Rev. Charles E. and Mae Williams.

Conner was a Veteran of the United States Army and served 18 months during 1946-1947. He graduated from Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, TN. He was a real estate broker and a general contractor, building and selling real estate. What Connor loved most was talking to people about the Lord and inviting them to church. He enjoyed singing Christ-honoring music and blessed many by always having a song in his heart. His hobbies were going to church, Sunday school, camp meetings, and revivals. He traveled to many places, both in the U.S. and internationally (Bolivia, Japan, Philippines, Puerto Rico, and Alaska) to be a part of church meetings and support missions. In 2011, he and his wife, Martha, moved to Cleveland, Tennessee, where they could be close to and volunteer at the Rock of Ages Ministries. Since that time, he has been a faithful member of Maranatha Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his daughters Dorothy Williams and Joan Rossini; brother Charles Williams; sisters Willie Mae Johnson and Ruby Lovett.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Martha Ramsey Williams; daughter Donna Williams; sisters Helen Martinson and Eunice Ramsey; brothers Claude (Sharon) Williams, Bill (Karen) Williams; grandsons Tony Rossini and Christopher (Aimee) Rossini; four great grandchildren: many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Brian (Noel) Williams is a great nephew and has been so helpful.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Rock of Ages Ministries or Maranatha Baptist Church.

Conner’s family will receive friends from 10:00am until 12:00pm on Tuesday February 7th at Rock of Ages Ministries with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 12pm. He will be laid to rest at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Brian Williams, T.J. Baiz, Traves Byers, McKinnley Teague, Benjamin Smith, and Ryan Ramsey will serve as pallbearers.
