Phyllis Kaye West

Phyllis Kaye West, 67, a resident of Decatur, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. Her grandbabies are her world. She loved spending time in the mountains, but the beach was her favorite place in the whole world. She was an avid candy crusher and enjoyed making quilts for her grandbabies, 47 quilts to be exact. She always put others before herself. Showing and making people feel loved was her greatest gift. She loved Rod Stewart and loved Elvis Presley enough to send flowers to his funeral.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Barnes; the love of her life for 45 years, Tony Lee West, Sr.; and Princess Grandbaby, Maranda Kinsey “Ran-Ran” Wright.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory children, Tony Lee “Bubbie” (Netta) West, Jr., Rhonda (Chip) Pendergrass, Christopher “Bo” Barnes, Sr., Sherry Lee (Timmy) Wright, James “Sach” (Gail) West, Sr., Tammy (Eddie) Garren, Margie “Charlie” (Skip) Lee; bonus children, Jessica Thompson West and Johnny and MaryLee Sims; siblings, Teresa Brooks, Janie Cancler, Bobby Barnes and Charlie Barnes; grandchildren, Nick West, Cierra (Shanon) Smith, Elizabeth Barnes, Emma (Travis) Ezell, Erikka (Cody) West, Maranda Kinsey Wright, Christopher (Jada) Barnes, Jr., Ross Pendergrass, Cory “Coryman” Harbin, James “Jim” (Jordan) West, Jr., Morgan (Shawn) Adams, Rex Pendergrass, Linsey “Lou” Lee, Toni Bruhn and Gracie Lee; greatgrandchildren, Preston West, Keegan Smith, Addie Jaye Ezell, Christopher “Trip” Barnes, III, Novalee Smith, Kinley “Chunky Monkey” Ezell and Makynzie Adams.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 13, 2020, from 4:00PM – 9:00PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2415 Georgetown Road in Cleveland. The family will have additional visitation at Companion on Friday, February 14, 2020 from 10:00AM until 2:00PM. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00PM with Reverend Ronnie Dotson officiating.
