Phyllis Ellen Smith

Phyllis Ellen Smith, 74, of Benton, TN passed away on February 22, 2016. She was born on February 3, 1942 to the late Biggs Waldrop and Lura Qualls Waldrop. She was a lifelong resident of Benton and active member of Wetmore Baptist Church, that she loved dearly. Phyllis loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and watching them play sports.
In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her sister Wanda Crump and brother Paul Waldrop.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 52 years, Ronnie E. Smith; daughters Tracy Bishop (Dennis) and Carole Norwood (Buddy); son Rick Smith; sister Nelsie Sisson (Glenn); grandchildren: Rebekah Bishop, Joshua Norwood, Caleb Norwood, Benjamin Norwood, Carly Smith, and Cole Smith; nephews Roger Sisson and Steve Crump; great grandchildren Isabella Norwood and Chase Frank. In addition to these, she leaves behind several other nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00pm on Wednesday February 24, 2016 at Wetmore Baptist Church located at 9801 US-411, Delano, TN 37325 with Rev. Johnnie Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 4:00pm until the 7:00pm service time. Interment will be held at Brock Cemetery on Thursday February 25, 2016 at 3:00pm with Rick Smith, Cole Smith, Caleb Norwood, Joshua Norwood, Ben Norwood, Joe Waters, and Russell Milling serving as pallbearers.
