Phyllis Ann Williams

Phyllis Ann Williams, 71, of Athens, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 28, 2022 after a brief illness. Phyllis was born on September 12, 1950 in Scott County Virginia to the late George C. and Etta Gillenwater. Phyllis was a very strong willed and independent woman, she was very patriotic, and enjoyed spending time with her family as well as her fur babies. She was a fun-loving person who enjoyed her life traveling the country she loved.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Gary Lee Gillenwater, and Glenn Gillenwater.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 50 years, Charles Williams; her daughter, Shanda Wade; her grandson, Logan Wade; her sisters, Ruth Roberts, Jean Richards, Faye Hall, and Barbara Harless; along a host of extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on June 3, 2022 at 6:00 pm with Reverend Guinn Green officiating at Companion Funeral Home of Athens. The family will be receiving from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm prior to the service.
