Obituary
Philip Edward Hayes, 75, of Riceville, TN passed away on Friday February 13, 2015 in a Knoxville Hospital. He was born on January 12, 1940 to the late Richard L.and Minnie V. Hayes. Phil was an avid hunter and outdoorsman with love for beagle dogs, owning eight of them himself. He enjoyed training them to hunt for himself or others. He was a lifelong resident of this area and retired from Tennessee Valley Authority.
In addition to his mother and father, his is preceded in death by one grandson Tyler Myers. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, longtime companion of thirty-five years, Rosemary Butler; five children: Doug Hayes (Sharon), Darrell Hayes (Debra), Dale Hayes, Ray Hayes (Lona), Michael Hayes (Jeanette); six siblings: Marvin Hayes (Sue), Nancy Ingram, Tommy Hayes (Wanda), Kenny Hayes (Sandy), Brenda Goodwin (Frank), and Robin Ramsey; grandchildren: Darlene Ware, Michael Hayes, Justin Hayes, T.J. Selby, Zackary Waters, Cody Morgan, Tanner Morgan, Jeff Griffith, Scott Griffith, Sammy Griffith, and Rex Weaver; great grandchildren: Carile Beck, Anthony Beck, Maleah Selby. In addition to these, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday February 18, 2015 at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-9:00pm on Tuesday February 17, 2015 at the funeral home and from 12:00pm until the 1:00pm service time on Wednesday. Interment will follow the service in the Charleston Cemetery on Wednesday.
