Perry Ingram

September 29, 1943 — September 4, 2017

Perry Ingram, 73, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Monday September 4, 2017. Perry graduated from Bradley Central High School in the class of 1962. After high school, he went to serve in the US Navy where he had duty stations at Guantanamo Bay and the Pentagon. Once out of the Navy, he finished his education by receiving a degree from Cleveland State Community College. Perry was a very gifted baseball player, even getting an offer from the MLB Washington Senators baseball team, but decided to serve his country instead of pursuing his baseball career. Even after his playing days were over, he was an avid baseball fan, always cheering on the Atlanta Braves. In addition to all of these accolades, Perry was known most by his 35 years of service to the City of Cleveland Fire Department.
He is preceded in death by his parents, D.A. and Willie Ruth Ingram; sister, Linda Ingram Grady; twin brother, Terry Dee Ingram; and brother, Teddy Wayne Ingram.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 47 years, Parrise Ann Ingram; children, Wendi Bishop (Jeff), W. Drew Ingram (Natalie), and Larry Joe Stevison (Michelle); granddaughters, Emily Hicks (Michael), Bayley Bishop (Colton), Callie Bishop, Lillie Ingram, Lexie Ingram, and Layna Klaire Ingram; brothers, David Ingram and Rodger Ingram; as well as many extended family and friends.
The City of Cleveland Fire Department will be serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Washington Avenue Baptist Church on Thursday September 7, 2017 and from 10:00 until 11:00am on Friday September 8, 2017 at the church. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00am at the church on Friday September 8, 2017 with interment following at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
You are invited to share a personal memory of Perry or your condolences with his family at his online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral and Cremation Service and the Cody family are honored to assist the Ingram family with these arrangements.
