Peggy June Kimsey

Peggy June Kimsey, 69, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Erlanger Hospital. Peggy was a lifelong resident of Bradley County working at MC Headrick, White Store, Schering Plough then went on to work for her family. Peggy’s entire life was devoted to her family and her friends. She took care of her grandparents, mother, and aunt and uncle. As well, she ran the family rental business.

Peggy was a member at Bethel Baptist Church. She loved gospel music, concerts, NYC theaters and Alabama football games. Peggy loved to travel, loved going out to eat and spending time with her family and friends and their children of whom she was a godmother/aunt to many. She had a way of making friends and staying their friend for life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lake E. and Allie Marie Kimsey; grandparents, Jess and Febbie Swafford, Curtis and Fannie Kimsey; and several aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her aunt and uncle, Iva Mae and William “Bill” Burris.

Her loving friends who will miss her dearly, Ann Lancaster, Joey (Mark) James, Carol (Jim) Culberson, Charlene Pennell (Tony Taylor), Wanda “Susie” Hall, Marsha (Mike) Mitchell, Sandra (Danny) Presley, Nyla (Bim) Wilson, and many more not listed.

Godchildren, nieces and nephews, Eric Lancaster, Derrick Lancaster, Kendra McDonald, Alex Allen, Holly Mays, Chris (Libbey) Pennell, Jason (Jenny) Pennell, Jennifer (Josh) Aslinger, Emily (David) Crump, Misty (Keith) Jackson, Travis (Cassie) Hall, Taylor Presley, Kylie Shea and Eden Hill.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2415 Georgetown Road in Cleveland. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 10:00AM with Pastor Lynn Epperson officiating. A graveside service will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Eric Lancaster, Derrick Lancaster, Chris Pennell, Jason Pennell, Travis Hall, James “Bim” Wilson, and Michael Williamson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Taylor and Danny Presley.
