Peggy Jo Black Lindsey

Peggy Jo Black Lindsey, born Feb. 25, 1929 in Chattanooga, TN passed away on January 4, 2023 in a local hospital. She attended East Side Middle School, Chattanooga City High School, and worked in a Textile Factory from circa 1951 until marriage to George W. Lindsey on December 31, 1953, then was a homemaker as long as her health permitted. In previous years, she had sang in a gospel quartet, and had also been a teacher in Sunday School for younger children. Peggy loved her family and will forever be remembered for her love for cats.

She is preceded in death by her father, Grover Nelson Black Sr., her mother Sarah Marie Moorman, infant sister Linda Fay Black, and her husband, George Lindsey, brother Grover Nelson Black.

She is survived by her brother Rhea Moorman Black, nephew Billy Rhea Black, niece Susan Black, and several cousins.

A graveside service for Peggy will take place at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday January 10th at 2:30pm.
