Patrick Lamar Barnes

Patrick “Pat” Lamar Barnes, Age 70, of Athens passed away March 19, 2022. Pat was born on February 2, 1952, to the late Eugene and Blanche Barnes in Athens, Tennessee. Pat was a Certified Master Mechanic specializing in European made vehicles. Owned and operated European Imports for 30+ years. He enjoyed boating and fishing and street rod shows where his 67 Chevrolet Stepside won many national awards.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Barnes; and sisters Bobbie Key and Brenda Glass.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Pam Barnes; sons, Jason “Chipper” Barnes and wife Tiffany of Athens, Brandon Barnes of Athens; Daughters, Hannah Thomas and husband Daniel of Athens, and Amy Crabtree of Hopkinsville, Ky.; Grandchildren, Kamren Barnes, Kason Barnes, Hunter Watson, Dregan Jacquez, Kayden Thomas, Kailey Thomas, and Raylan Thomas; along with a host of extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at 7:00 pm at Companion funeral Home of Athens with Pastor Jerry Stephens officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00pm – 7:00pm prior to the service.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022, at 11:00 am at Oak Grove Cemetery in Riceville, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers Pat would prefer donations be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital in his memory
