Ola Virginia Patterson

Ola Virginia Patterson, 84, of Epworth, Georgia passed away June 28, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Isabella, TN and had been a resident of Epworth for the past 62 years. She enjoyed listening to music, visiting with friends, traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Ola was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Gailey Carter; her husband, J.D. Patterson; and her siblings, Harley Carter, Monrow Carter, Jim Carter, Arthur Carter, Albert Carter, Weldon Carter, Lizzy Dillard, Lola Mae Cross, Lumar Bryant, and Sarah Vessel. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Tatum (John); sons, Robert “Bob” Patterson, and David Patterson; 15 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren, brother in law and sister in law: Bill and Shelby Patterson; Al and Margaret Patterson. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 9pm on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Lebanon Baptist Church, 845 Lebanon Road, Epworth, GA. Funeral services will be at 2pm Monday, July 1, 2019 at the church with Pastor Charlie Wellham, Claude Mathis, and Al Patterson officiating. Music will be provided by Chris Patterson and Carol Thomas. Burial will follow in Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family has requested the following as pallbearers:Robert Patterson, Jared Tatum, Travis Tatum, Jason Tanner, Jeff Collins, and Matthew Patterson and the following as honorary pall bearers: Cody Patterson, Bobby Tatum, Russ Cohen, Nathan Tatum, Everett Tatum, Tommy Carter, James Hicks, Travis Norton, and Norman Dillard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland is honored to assist her family with these arrangements.
