Nella Mae Simonds

Nella Mae Simonds, 86, a longtime resident of Athens, TN passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019 in a local healthcare facility. She was born on November 12, 1932 in Chipley, FL a daughter of the late Earl & True Montgomery. Nella was a member of the Englewood Church of God. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Frank Coto, one sister Sybil Hamilton and three brothers Kenneth Montgomery, Edwin Earl Montgomery and Hayward Montgomery.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, one daughter and son in law Debbie & Bill Thomas, three grandchildren David Moses and his wife Amanda, Shawn Romine and Tiffany Romine, several great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of her life is planned for Friday, September 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Athens chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 400 S White Street with the Reverend Scott Carden officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the 2:00 PM service time on Friday at the funeral home.
The interment will follow the funeral service in the Hammonds Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.
