Nancy Jean Gates

Nancy Jean Gates, 69, lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away January 3, 2022, at her residence surround by her family. She was born May 1, 1952, to Cyrus and Clemmie Buckner and of the Baptist faith. Nancy loved her family with her whole heart and will be greatly missed. She loved to paint flowers and miscellaneous pictures. Nancy loved sewing and was very creative.

In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her siblings, Pamela Buckner and brother, David Buckner.

Survived by her husband, Taylor Ray Gates; son, Jason Ray (Alaysa) Gates; daughter, Roxanna Joann (David) Sanford; siblings, Marvin Buckner, Sandra White, Gail Williams, and Kenneth Buckner; grandchildren, Sierra Cheyenne Sanford, Matthew Alexander Sanford, and Liam Russell Glenn.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Companion Funeral Home, followed by the service in the chapel at 2:00 PM. Samuel White will officiate the service and the burial will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery, McDonald, TN.
