Mertice Joan Hood

Mertice Joan Hood, 92, lifelong resident of Harrison , TN, passed away, January 13, 2023. Born July 10, 1930, to the late Clyde & Ernestine Roberts.

Mert was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church. Through her devotion to faith, she leaves a lasting impact in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to meet her. To know her, was to love her, and we were all blessed to have had her in our lives.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Hood, Jr.; son, William (Bill) Hood, III; brother, Dr. James Ken Roberts.

Survived by her loving son, Jim (Jennie) Hood; daughter, Janey Brooks; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 nephews; 3 nieces.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023, 2:00 PM, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Life Care Center of Ooltewah and Hearth Hospice for the care they gave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Silverdale Baptist Church in her name.
