Melvin Randolph

Melvin Randolph, 78, died Monday, November 19th at his beloved home on the Tennessee River in Meigs County, TN. He was preceded in death by The love of his life Nellie Randolph, his wife of 51 years. He is also preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Hattie Randolph as well as sisters Evelyn Womack, Loretta Melton and brothers Richard Randolph and Jerry Randolph. He is survived by his two children Sherry Payne and son-in-law Paul Payne; son Terry Randolph and daughter-in-law Carolyn Randolph. Grandsons Randy Payne and Nicholas Payne and his wife Tabitha Payne. Great-grandchildren Logan, Rayley, Paisley Payne and Olivia Payne. His sister Charlotte and her husband Horace Newman. Special nieces and honorary daughters Ann Vernon, Darlene Robertson and Kathy Reagan, and many other nieces and nephews.
He was an honorably discharged veteran having served in The United States Marine Corp. He was proud to be an old “JarHead”! He was deeply loved by his family and will be greatly missed!
The family will be receiving friends on Friday, November 23, 2018 from 5PM to 8PM and on Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 2PM to 3PM with the service at 3PM, at Companion Funeral Home: Athens Chapel (400 S. White St. Athens, TN) the burial is to follow at Lebanon Baptist Cemetery with Scott Rymer, Chuck Rymer, Brad Hunt, Bill Beck, Jeff Robertson, Bruce Randolph serving as pallbearers.
