Melody Lauraine Slattery

We are sad to say good-bye to Melody Lauraine Slattery, who passed away December 16, 2022, after a short illness. Born June 16, 1957, to Laura Mae and Harley Slattery, in Madeira, California. She was gentle, expressive and hardworking. She loved to crochet and sew; and she wrote and memorized poetry. She had a vast memory of Bible passages and hymns, and she loved adventure and outdoor fun.

Melody earned a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Southern University, in Tennessee. Through the years, she worked as an RN in various facilities and clinics, including about seven years in Hawaii.

Melody is survived by her mother, Laura Mae Zollinger, and two step-sisters, Eva Lynn and Shirley; step-brothers, Genoa and Fred, are deceased. She leaves behind two aunts, Ruby Eaton and Jenny Enoch, and one uncle, David Seibert. Two uncles preceded her in death, Martin and Leland Seibert. She has ten cousins who loved her dearly, and a sweet cousin who died early, at 14, Laura Seibert.

She now rests, awaiting that final trip to where all will be beautiful, and life will extend to eternity in happiness. Melody will be laid to rest at the Laurelbrook Academy campus next to her step-father, Glen Zollinger. “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.” Titus 2:13
